I used a limited palette of quinacridone magenta, lemon yellow and cobalt blue to paint this image. For the paper, once again I chose saunders Waterford, this one having a rough surface. I worked without photo reference and this is a method of working that I prefer for this current series of paintings. Our memories are full of inspiring sights that we have all seen over the years and tapping into these memories allows me to work in a free manner. It also gives me artistic licence to explore with the paint. Seeing some fungi that had popped up in the garden inspired me to add them to this watercolour.
